Finalising the National Electrification Master Plan (NEMP) by 2022 enhances coordination to unlock Namibiaʼs energy potential, driving economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability. It attracts investment, reduces electricity costs, and supports industrial expansion. Socially, it improves education, healthcare, and rural livelihoods while creating jobs and promoting gender inclusion. Environmentally, it accelerates renewable energy adoption, reduces deforestation, and strengthens climate resilience. Additionally, the NEMP streamlines energy planning, governance, and infrastructure development, ensuring energy security, reducing reliance on imports, and positioning Namibia as a leader in sustainable electrification.
